Jessica Alba’s Honest Company label is upsetting people. The company was slapped with a lawsuit branding them ‘deceptively and misleadingly’ over that markets its products as ‘natural’. This comes after a slew of people suffered a sunburn while wearing a Honest Company sunscreen.

In new legal doc obtained by People Mag, Jonathan D. Rubin says that there are a number of products that contain “unnatural” and “synthetic” ingredients along with the Honest Sunscreen product being “ineffective”. He adds the Honest Hand Soap, Honest Diapers, and Honest Multi-Surface Cleaner are misleading consumers.

The Honest Co has addressed the claims writing, “The Honest Company is committed to providing safe and effective products, and we take all consumer feedback very seriously.”

“Our sunscreen Lotion was tested, by an independent 3rd party, again the protocols prescribed by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration’s (FDA) monograph for over-the-counter sunscreen products. The results showed that our product is effective and safe for use as an 80 minute water-resistant (FDA’s highest rating), SPF 30 sunscreen lotion in accordance with FDA regulations when used as directed (Shake Well. Apply liberally and evenly 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating, immediately after towel drying and at least every 2 hours).”

Every company has their hiccups…we think the lawsuit will bring awareness to the company and they will fix their issues.
