Jonah Hill wanted to star in Wolf of Wall Street so badly that he took a huge pay cut to star in the Oscar nominated flick. Hill stopped in to talk to Howard Stern and revealed he was only paid $60,000 for the role even though he spent 7 months on the movie… for the pure love of Martin Scorsese. Hill said, “They gave me the lowest amount of money possible. I said, ‘I will sign the paper tonight. Fax me the papers tonight.’ I want to sign them tonight before they change their mind.”
He jokingly added that he would have sold his home to work with Scorsese. “I would sell my house and give him all my money to work for him. This isn’t what you make money for. You do ’22 Jump Street’ or you do other things, and you can pay your rent. I would’ve done anything in the world. I would do it again in a second … This s–t isn’t about money. You should do things that you care about.” He added, “I got to f—ing be in a Martin Scorsese movie!” he added.
And guess what he was just nominated for another Oscar for Wolf...now that’s a passion project!
