The Jonas Brothers further cleared up their split during their appearance on Good Morning America. It was Nick who revealed, “I feel like we’ve had some complication within the group for a long time and without addressing them, I feel like this train is going to fall off the tracks. We feel like we’re best suited to do our own individual things,” he continued, adding that the siblings “choose to be brothers first.” “It was starting to get stale to us,” Joe Jonas said adding, “There were just individual things we were just budding heads about. At some point, we just decided it’s best if we just finish this.”

Nick revealed to People he had to tell his brothers how he felt…that he no longer wanted to continue the band. “You prep a million ways…there was sort of a shut-off that happened. It took some time, about 24 hours or so, before we could really talk about it.” But Joe and Kevin were shocked since they believed they were just going to have a meeting about some new music. “Kevin and I thought we were going into a meeting about releasing some of the music we’d been working on,” says Joe.

Oldest brother Kevin said, “It was the most real, the most intense conversation that we’ve had in our lives together. We’re choosing our family because it was becoming toxic. I wasn’t contributing to the music the way I should have,” says Kevin, who, admittedly, is more interested in the business side of things. ”

And on a side note…Joe denied he is drug addicted to People.  “It’s ridiculous! We’re not saying anything for two or three weeks and I’m a drug addict! It’s obviously not true. I’ve never touched heroin in my life. Neither has my girlfriend. It’s hilarious to me, but also frustrating as well. It pissed me off when it’s about my girl and even about myself. I was walking down the street and people are asking me if they can give me a hug and how rehab is,” says Joe. “I’m like, ‘You tell me because I’ve never been.’ ”
