Kesha is currently deep in a court battle with her former producer Dr. Luke after she accused him of assaulted and wanted out of their partnership. But the ‘Warrior’ singer just wants to she record again and is pleading with the court to let her out of her Sony contract a year after the original allegations surfaced.
Kesha’s lawyers filed courts papers saying that the singer’s career is currently halted is asking the court to be able to record again. “Kesha Rose Sebert wants nothing more than to be able to record an album. Her only condition is that she be allowed to record with a record label that is not affiliated with someone who has emotionally and sexually abused her.”
“Kesha now faces an abysmal decision: Work with her alleged abuser….or idly and passively wait as her career tick-tocks away,” her attorneys wrote in the court papers. “Kesha’s window of opportunity is nearly shut: She has not been recording, touring or able to market merchandise for nearly a year – an eternity in the industry. If Kesha is not permitted to resume working immediately with the backing of a major record label, her window will forever close.”
Sony is banning her from working anyone other than Dr. Luke or one of his companies. Dr. Luke is counter-suing Kesha for breach of contract.
