Kris Jenner wasn’t completely blind-sided by Bruce Jenner’s transition, but she says ‘Caitlyn’ was a surprise. While talking to Vanity Fair Kris confessed, “When I met Bruce, he told me that he had done hormones back in the early ’80s. This was a conversation that took place in the early ’90s. So, what he was telling me happened a decade earlier, and he never really explained it.” Caitlyn says Kris knew about the hormones, but Kris added she didn’t know Bruce wanted to be a female, “Nobody mentioned a gender issue.”
She continued, “He was married to me, and he wasn’t who he wanted to be, so he was miserable. It was the most passive-aggressive thing I think I’ve ever experienced. Why would you want to be married and have kids, if this is what you wanted since you were a little boy?” Kris asked. “Why would you not explain this all to me? All I was doing was working very hard for my family so that we could all have a wonderful future, and he was pissed off.”
It was Bruce who abruptly ended the 22-year marriage to Kris with no warning! Caitlyn now says that Kris was not very nice during their last few years together especially when she started making a lot of money from the Keeping Up franchise. “Twenty percent was gender, and 80 percent was the way I was treated,” Caitlyn told VF.”A lot of times, [Kris] wasn’t very nice, probably a mistake I made was maybe not having her understand — not the severity of it, but that this is a condition you cannot get away from.”
And in other news Rob didn’t recognize Bruce on the cover of Vanity Fair she told Access Hollywood, “It was so funny because all the girls, we knew that Caitlyn was shooting this but my brother had no idea. So I sent it on a mass text to everyone and my brother was on it and he goes, ‘Kim, why are you sending me this? Who is this woman? And why do I care?’ And I was like, ‘Rob, that’s Bruce! That’s Caitlyn!’ And he was like, ‘Oh my god, she’s beautiful!’ And then he called her and they had a lovefest and it was so cute. But the moment was so funny.”
Caitlyn will make her first major public appearance at the ESPY awards to accept theArthur Ashe Courage Award on July 15th. All kids are expected to attend.
