Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Margaret Thatcher passed away today at the age of 87. “It is with great sadness that Mark and Carol Thatcher announced that their mother Baroness Thatcher died peacefully following a stroke this morning. A further statement will be made later,” her rep told Us Weekly. Thatcher served at prime minister from 1979 to 1990 and retired from public life in 1992. She was often called the ‘Iron Lady’ due to her strong character and she reportedly suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease.
