Mariah Carey Says ‘American Idol’ Experience Was ‘Abusive’

Mariah Carey has no nice words for American Idol—she even calls the experience ‘abusive.’ While chatting with reporters at the Television Press Critics Summer Press Tour, the diva said, “Ugh! It was the most the most abusive experience! By the way, you’ve just driven me to drink.”

Mariah, is out promoting her new docu-series, “Mariah’s World” which premieres Dec. 4 on E!, whe she revealed that she was hesitant to let cameras into her life. “I think in the beginning I was withholding the amount of access because I’m never sure who to trust. I just didn’t know how things were going to be perceived … We’re still in the process of filming and getting more real moments. My goal is to make this a lasting piece of work for my fans.”

And what about ex-husband, Nick Cannon and their twins, Moroccan and Monroe, 5 will they make appearances on the show. “I just have to figure out, and you know, mutually figure it out with Nick and whatever how much we really want them in the show. Because the truth is, they jump on the stage when they can … they’re an integral part of my life.” And Nick—“I don’t know what makes the final cut.”
