We don’t have to be too sad for Paul McDonald after getting eliminated from American Idol…he has gained friends and a famous girlfriend from his experience!

Paul revealed that it was indeed true, he is dating actress Nikki Reed,

“Me and Nikki Reed are dating. It’s officially true,” Paul told reporters during a press conference today, via Zap2it. “She’s super-cool, she’s super-smart and a really cool girl. We’ve been hanging out here and there, we’re both pretty busy, but it’s been fun so far.”

It all began when Paul and the rest of the Idol crew went to the Hollywood premiere of Red Riding Hood last month.

Nikki approached Paul on the carpet and gushed: “You’re amazing. I’m blushing, I should go.”

Paul responded, “Wow, thank you” and the two awkwardly hugged good-bye.

As soon as Nikki was out of earshot, Paul asked, “Was she a famous actress or something? I’d hang out with her!”

Well I think love was in the air because Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart not only sang an amazing duet, but it seems like the rumors are true and the duo could be dating! If you were watching last night carefully…Casey tells Haley I Love You when she was named in the bottom three!!!

Trying to keep things cool, they just gave each other a tight hand squeeze before Casey went back to the couch. After Paul McDonald and Stefano Langone joined Haley in the bottom three, the show cut to commercial, and then it was Haley who crossed the stage and made a beeline for Casey.

As the two chatted and laughed, Casey tried a few times to grab her hand and even attempted to get Haley to sit on his lap. When that didn’t work, he reverted to touching her whenever he could and kept a steady eye on her as she talked with the other contestants with body language that pretty much said, “Hey look at me.”
