Former Ravens Baltimore Running Back Ray Rice plans to appeal his indefinite suspension sources tell ESPN. Rice was kicked off the Ravens last week when TMZ released a video of the running back and his then-fiancée, now wife Janay Rice engaging in a fight. The assault captured on the security camera in an Atlantic City casino elevator shows the duo fighting before Rice brutally punches Janay, she hits the elevator wall and is knocked unconscious.

Originally a video surfaced of the duo fight a few months ago, but it did not show the severity of Janay’s injuries.  Ray and Janay later held a press conference where she apologized for her actions that night. Rice was then given a two-game suspension in July. But this was all before the elevator video leaked and the NFL was highly scrutinized for their policy on domestic violence and how the situation was handled. The NFL and the Ravens both claim to have only seen the tape for the first time last week.

Rice has until 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday to appeal his suspension.
