Robin Williams had no alcohol or drugs in his system at the time of his death according to coroner in Marin County, California. The investigation which concluded today revealed that Williams was on prescription medications for “therapeutic” reasons possibly for Parkinson’s disease, which he was recently diagnosed with or the depression he lived with for years.
It was Robins Williams wife just days after his suicide that confirmed that her husband had not fallen back into drugs and alcohol but had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
“Since his passing, all of us who loved Robin have found some solace in the tremendous outpouring of affection and admiration for him from the millions of people whose lives he touched. His greatest legacy, besides his three children, is the joy and happiness he offered to others, particularly to those fighting personal battles. Robin’s sobriety was intact and he was brave as he struggled with his own battles of depression, anxiety as well as early stages of Parkinson’s Disease, which he was not yet ready to share publicly.”
Robin was found in his California home on August 11.
