Scarlett Johansson is set to star in Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho along with James D’Arcy as Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins. Anthony Hopkins would star as Alfred Hitchcock, with Helen Mirren playing his wife, Alma. Director Sacha Gervasi’s movie will follow Hitchcock and his struggles while filming the classic movie, Psycho according to Variety! Sources tell Variety that “Making of Psycho” has drawn comparisons to “My Week With Marilyn,” and that the role of Janet Leigh could lead to the same awards consideration for Johansson that the Marilyn Monroe role did for Michelle Williams.
Though D’Arcy’s role is smaller compared to his co-stars, it’s still considered a major part given how important Perkins is to the “Psycho” legacy.
Johansson, who recently starred in Fox’s “We Bought a Zoo,” is repped by CAA and manager Rick Yorn. D’Arcy, who was most recently seen in The Weinstein Company’s “W.E.,” is repped by CAA, Management 360 and Markham Froggatt and Irwin.
