Jennifer Lopez is not the only superstar getting ready to sue former employees…Shakira will be taking her ex-employees to court over extortion and defamation allegations. The ex-workers threatened to reveal private information about the Latin pop star if she didn’t fork over $500,000. The employees has been with Shakira for 11 years and were recently fired.
Shakira’s lawyer, Exequiel A. Camerini, tells Colombian paper El Esplendor,
“There is clear evidence of intentions to defame and cause harm to my client by taking advantage of her public persona and spotless personal reputation in exchange for money.”
