Can people let Taraji P. Henson peacefully shop at Target please!! The actress stopped by The Today Show this morning to talk about her new flick, Hidden Figures, about a NASA scientist who played an intricate role in Apollo 11’s trip to the moon. But of course Taraji’s biggest role at Cookie took center stage. The Empire star was asked what its like to play such a huge character. “I can’t go shop at Target anymore. If I do, I have to dress like a Unabomber. Well, Cookie has become a phenomenon.”

And people can get a little aggressive with Cookie I mean Taraji.“People actually think I am her. So they hit me when they see me — ‘Hey, Cookie!’ — they slap me, they grab me at weird hours of the morning when I’m traveling, and it’s just like, ‘Woah! It’s kinda early for that.’” Taraji has been in the business for decades nows but Cookie catapulted her fame.“I know, but it’s characters like this that brings in fame. I’ve never experienced fame on this level before. I was kinda under the radar. But Cookie takes it to a whole nother level. Like, I really have no personal life, basically. I like to people-watch. It’s become very difficult to do.” Hall pointed out that she at least has a Golden Globe to “keep you company at home.”
