Remember when Taylor Swift said she was not planning to ever show off her belly button and keep it a mystery, well soon after that interview she bared her belly button on Instagram. So what gives well Taylor was caught vacationing with friends in Hawaii and was snapped by paparazzi on a boat in a bikini so she beat them to the punch and released a bikini photo before the paps could cash in on the pic —well-played Taylor.
Taylor stopped by BBC Radio 1′s Breakfast Show and explained what happened.
“We weren’t going to Instagram photos. I have a camera that I really love and we were just taking pictures for fun. We spent this whole trip feeling like, ‘This is amazing. We’re so sly. There’s no paparazzi anywhere.’ You know I’m always checking. I’m looking a mile away. It’s been ten years of this. I know how to spot a lens. I know how to hear the faint clicking sounds a mile away. There was nothing. I swear.”
She continued, And then we’re on our last day and we’re whale watching on a boat. Basically, on the last day we see a fishing boat a half a mile away. We were like, ‘That’s a little weird. We’re in the middle of the ocean scuba diving.’ And my security gets out binoculars and sees that they have a huge long-lens camera. At which point, we go back to the beach and we realize, ‘Okay so they got pictures of us in our bikinis, like I don’t want them to make like $100,000 for stalking us’… So we’re like, ‘Get up on the bow of the boat, we’re taking better bikini shots, so they don’t make as much money on theirs.’”
