Billy Bush’s fate on NBC’s Today show is unclear after his suspension stemming from that now infamous Access Hollywood video with Donald Trump over lewd comments about women. Billy might be negotiating an exit deal with NBC according to a source over at the NYTimes. Within days we will know what will happen to Bush’s contract with NBC, despite his long tenure with the network.
“It could be resolved immediately or it could take quite some time,” a source tells People. “They’re looking at all aspects of it.” But the source adds that Bush’s comments were out of character for the host. “Most people at the show have not heard this type of ‘locker room talk’ from him. Most people who have worked with Billy would say that sort of behavior was out of character for him.Billy is a good guy. He’s a nice guy. He’s always respectful to women and kind to his colleagues and he has had a good relationship with all of the anchors.”
“Obviously I’m embarrassed and ashamed,” Billy said after the tape surfaced. “It’s no excuse, but this happened eleven years ago — I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I’m very sorry.”
