Heidi Klum may have been the first to make a move in her divorce from husband Seal and yes she has a prenup which would protect her $70 million dollar empire (modeling, television shows, jewelry line, website and more).
If Heidi Klum and Seal decide to divorce after their separation, both are covered. A source close to the supermodel confirms to Life & Style: “Yes, there is a prenup”, which is a good thing for Heidi, whose career has exploded in the years since they’ve been married. Seal is allegedly worth considerably less at $15 million.
“In 2005, when they got married, the career situation was a bit different. Heidi has really had way more success than Seal since then,” says the source.
The mom of four certainly has a lot to protect. From her modeling, television shows, jewelry line, website and other ventures, she has earned an estimated fortune of around $70 million. Her musician husband, meanwhile, is said to have a net worth of around $15 million. The couple also own a $14.2 million mansion in the Brentwood section of LA.
The insider reveals that Heidi initiated their split. “She was the one to hire the attorney,” an associate of Heidi’s tells Life & Style. “She wanted to be in charge and make sure that he knew that she was leaving him.”
On Sunday Jan. 22, the couple announced their separation after nearly seven years together. But that announcement came after an intensive last-ditch attempt to keep their relationship on track.
“They holed up for 48 hours and tried to make it work, but they couldn’t,” an insider says.
The couple married in Mexico on May 10, 2005, and have four children, Leni, 7, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2.
