Jennifer Lopez looks smoking hot on the cover of Glamour (and the issue says biggest in 20 years…can’t wait for my copy). Jennifer is a Hot Latina from my beloved Bronx. Is she still grounded…I heard No!
On what her real life is like…
“I like to maintain a certain sense of fantasy in my life. I am kind of like that at home. Do I have the full hair and makeup? No. But I might have the nice dress on.â€
On overcoming doubt and having faith in herself…
“If you feel in your mind you can do it, you can do it. You cannot doubt yourself. Doubt is a killer. You just have to know who you are and what you stand for. You can have a great mentor, a great partner, a great love in your life who gives you confidence and makes you feel great about yourself. And that’s all wonderful, but at the end of the day, if you don’t believe it, all of that means nothing.â€
On why there’s a question mark in her new album title, Love?
“For me, love is the never-ending question. It’s confusing. It’s the answer, but it’s also inundated with contradictions and complications. It’s about years of experience in different relationships, and kind of the culmination of that, and how even to this day, I’m still learning.â€
On whether she wishes some parts of her past weren’t so public…
“I don’t regret what I’ve been through. I’ve had ups and downs, super highs and some really low lows. I’ve been so blessed that I could never say, ‘I wish this didn’t happen.’ It’s part of who I am. There’s nothing in my life that’s so ugh. Yes, there are some things that I’m like, Eww, but not where I’m worried about [Max and Emme] finding out. I’ll tell them myself. No secrets from them.â€
Plus rumor has it that Jennifer was not the first choice as one of the new American Idol judges…I don’t take that as a diss because when you have a show like that there may have been like 20 people in the running so…who cares! The paycheck is going to be good though. Jennifer does need a little career boost!
“J.Lo was definitely not the first choice,” an ‘Idol’ insider tells me. “In fact, she wasn’t even the second or third choice.”
My source tells me that before they approached Lopez, producers first asked Elton John and Barry Manilow to join the hit — but starting to struggle — show. Both are undeniably great singer-songwriters who have mentored contestants in prior seasons, so it wouldn’t have been a stretch.
Alas, neither Elton nor Barry wanted to start a whole new career as a TV judge.
“It became clear that neither performer was ready to stop doing what they did best, writing and performing,” the ‘Idol’ insider says. “Plus, they are international legends. They certainly don’t want their legacy to be [as] the guy that replaced Simon Cowell on ‘Idol.'”
