Whoa, imagine the Jersey Shore without Snooki, Pauly D, JWoww or the Situation…well it could be a possibility. After season 5 is filmed the entire cast could be recast. The cast either doesn’t want to do the show anymore or they are getting to expensive. There are also spin-offs in the works so the cast does want to venture out and so other things. We will have to wait and see.

Sources connected with “Jersey Shore” confirm with TMZ … MTV will say goodbye for good to the current cast when they wrap Season 5.

Although some big wigs on the show denied it last week, we’re told MTV wants a fresh cast of characters after they wrap Season 5 — which begins shooting in New Jersey Monday.

Here’s the thing. MTV gets the best of both worlds. They can keep the “Jersey Shore” machine going by growing a new crop of much cheaper stars. And, as for the break-outs in the original cast — including The Situation, Snooki, JWOWW and Pauly D … the network has already signed them to spinoffs.

The cast is currently in limbo…they start filming season 5 on Monday and just landed from Italy but are not allowed to hang out with family and friends to keep the drama high…that’s kinda mean but whatever!

The “Jersey Shore” cast is on lockdown … as they wait to start shooting Season 5 in NJ next week — which means no phones, no Internet, no friends, no family, no nothing.

Sources connected with the show tell TMZ … producers want to keep the cast “in the zone” after coming back from Italy. Translation: If they started circulating again in New Jersey with friends, family, and the media, they’d lose the chemistry that makes the show work, and it takes time to get it back.

So given that Season 5 starts shooting on Monday, we’re told producers felt it was better to just keep them away from everyone.

But there are always exceptions to the rule. Sammi, Deena, and Pauly D had prior engagements they had booked that could not be canceled — the girls had commercial shoots and Pauly had a DJ gig in Vegas.

So producers gave the trio a weekend pass to show up at their gigs and come back no later than Sunday night.

Would you watch a new cast of the Jersey Shore?
