Katherine Heigl is suing Duane Reade for a whopping $6 million according to Page Six. Heigl filed a lawsuit against the drugstore chain claiming they used an image of her exiting one of their stores in NYC without her “consent” and then plastered the photo on Twitter and Facebook with the caption,“Love a quick #DuaneReade run? Even @KatieHeigl can’t resist shopping at #NYC’s favorite drugstore.” Heigl adds the image was misused for their own advertising and asked the photo to be removed…it has not!
The lawsuit claims, “As a consequence of her work in the entertainment and philanthropic worlds, plaintiff is a highly recognized celebrity… Accordingly, when plaintiff chooses to endorse a product or service, she is highly selective and well compensated.”
Heigl does not have the best reputation in Hollywood, often branded “difficult” to work with. I guess Duane Reade will not be working with the actress anytime soon. The lawsuit added she is not looking to make money off the suit…if she was awarded money she would donated it to her charity.
