Selena Gomez ‘s got the tattoo bug because she allegedly got new ink on the back of her neck with the number ’73.’ Gomez visited tattoo artist Bang Bang to get her new tattoo and it took just about 20 minutes. The tattoo is a “tribute to a family member who she said means a lot to her.”
Selena Gomez’s really caught the tattoo bug. After getting her first inking back in February, the Disney star’s got the number 73 in Roman numerals across the nape of her neck.
The 20-year-old went to artist-to-the-stars Bang Bang for the new addition, visiting his New York City studio. After just 20 minutes the task was complete, and Selena seemed pleased as punch with the results.
The actress posed readily in front of a mirror for her picture to be taken, so she could see the results before they were wrapped up to heal.
Selena then posed for a snap with the tattoo artist, looking delighted with her newest accessory. Perhaps she visited Bang Bang on recommendation from her Spring Breaker co-star Vanessa Hudgens, who’s also trusted him to work his magic on her precious skin.
So why the number 73?
Bang Bang revealed: “The tattoo was a tribute to a family member who she said means a lot to her.
“Selena was nervous it might have been painful, so she held her best friend’s hand the whole time. But she did a great job.”
Selena – whose boyfriend Justin Bieber is also a tattoo enthusiast – also had some touch-up work done to an existing etching on her wrist. The tiny music note is often mistaken for a heart, so the singer wanted to make the design clearer.
