E.L. James defends ‘Fifty Shades of Grey‘ casting of Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. The announcement of the casting choices and outraged and angered many fans who don’t believe the Dakota and Charlie fit the description of the characters in the book. E.L. James took to Twitter to defend the cast, “To all the supporters, lovers and haters – thank you so much for the passion that you have for this project. You all rock. All of you. ♡”

Producers Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca alos took to Twitter to voice their decision. Brunetti tweeted, “There is a lot that goes into casting that isn’t just looks. Talent, availability, their desire to do it, chemistry with other actor, etc. So if your favorite wasn’t cast, then it is most likely due to something on that list. Keep that in mind while hating and keep perspective. Thx to all the fans of @E_L_James FSOG for their overwhelming support of the casting choices. @MichaelDe_Luca &I can’t wait to start filming.” De Luca added, “Auditions were stunning, incredible chemistry!”

I have not read the book but let’s give them a chance.
