"Takers" New York Special Screening - Arrivals

One person dead and four were wounded right before T.I. took the stage at a concert in NYC. The incident all went down inside the Irving Plaza in NYC just around 10:15 when gunfire erupted. T.I. had not taken the stage yet, but two others were on stage when shots were fired backstage. One witness says there had been am argument between two groups of men. “The girl next to me was shot point blank, and men picked her up and carried her out. For two to three minutes we still heard firing, still heard shots, we were clutching each other making sure no one was getting hit.”

New York Police Department Commissioner Bill Bratton discussed the shooting this morning on WCBS 880.
“The crazy world of the so-called rap artists who are basically thugs that basically celebrate the violence they live all their lives and, unfortunately, that violence often manifests itself during the performances and that’s exactly what happened last evening.” Bratton added, “We feel we’ll wrap it up very quickly.”

Four people were shot, a man fatally—he was pronounced dead at Beth Israel Hospital. No arrests have been made yet!
