Priyanka Chopra looked gorgeous on the SAG red carpet…like its not fair gorgeous. Check out below for how Celebrity Hairstylist, Castillo decided on her soft sophisticated updo. “I decided to create a knotted updo to accent her beautiful strapless gown.”
“On clean damp hair, I started out by using Joico K-PAK Split End Mender along with Joico Power Gel Sculpting Gel on the roots and mid shaft of the hair. I then separated the hair into 4 sections, and dried her hair using ghd’s air™ hair dryer and ghd’s ceramic vented radial brush size 4 to create volume at the base of her head. Then, I took 1 inch sections of hair and created pin curls over the left eye, stacking them one over the other to let them set. I made two parts in her hair, one behind each ear. With a small amount of Joico Power Gel Sculpting Gel, I coated each section of hair from the roots to mid shaft and brushed out with ghd’s oval dressing brush and made the ponytail low and off centered. With the remaining two sections, I sprayed Joico’s Iron Clad and brushed through. I smoothed over the side sections of hair with ghd’s white platinum™ styler to ensure they were smooth and shiny. This styler features ghd’s tri-zone™ technology, which allows me to style hair at the optimal temperature of 365 degrees to ensure style holds without causing extra damage.
Then I made a second ponytail, and pulled back the remaining sections and crossed them over into the existing ponytail. I next glided ghd’s white platinum™ styler through the ponytails and brushed down the side of her head to create a smooth and sleek effect. I divided the ponytail into two sections and began to create a knot by crossing the sections of hair over one another and secured with bobby pins. At the crown of her head, I released the pin curls and brushed them out with ghd’s oval dressing brush. With ghd’s curve™ classic curl iron, I curled the remaining pieces to create a wave effect and pinned the wavy pieces across her left ear. To finish, I pulled out a few additional pieces and sealed in the look with Joico’s Flip Turn Volumizing Hair Spray.”
